The Nintendo DS game Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force hit retail shelves today in advance of holiday purchasing. The popularity of the virtual world might have been enough to drive sales on its own, but Disney is giving Club Penguin users extra incentive. Coins earned on the Nintendo DS can be uploaded wirelessly to users' online Penguin accounts. Each game also comes with a code to unlock an exlclusive room in the virtual world, "the top secret EPF Command Room."
“Club Penguin has grown tremendously and the roll-out of products for kids to extend their experience beyond the computer has been a huge success,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force takes that one step further by taking a popular storyline from the virtual world and expanding it onto the DS.”
