Virtual Greats Announces NBA License; WeeWorld, Cazmo, RockYou Get The Goods

GI_0_WeeWorld.NBA1 Today Virtual Greats announced a multi-year licensing agreement with the NBA. This agreement will allow Virtual Greats to produce NBA branded virtual goods for a variety of different online communities. Some merchandise will launch immediately today on social networks and in the WeeWorld and Planet Cazmo youth virtual worlds. Virtual Greats promises that more NBA-themed goods distributed across a broader range of platforms will appear in the future.

"Basketball fans - and we know they're passionate and numerous - will now be able to show off their favorite teams and player jerseys year-round," said Dan Jansen, CEO of Virtual Greats. "The upcoming NBA Playoffs provide a great opportunity to make fans aware of the goods - and they'll be easy to find and purchase given the sheer breadth of the online platform footprint."

The virtual merchandise, which will include player jerseys, team-branded basketballs and room posters, will be distributed via RockYou applications to social web destinations like Facebook, MySpace, and Friendster. Additional NBA merchandise including jerseys, basketballs, hoodies, and pompoms will appear in WeeWorld. Planet Cazmo will receive jerseys and foam fingers for avatars as well as NBA-themed furniture for room decoration.
