Today Super Rewards announced it would be the first ad offer network to support social games on the Twitter platform, beginning with the text RPG 140 Mafia. Super Rewards CEO Jason Bailey states this partnership will make 140 Mafia the first "proven profitable" venture to emerge from the Twitter platform. The Super Rewards platform will require no alterations or customization to work with Twitter social games. The company intends to spread its platform to support other Twitter social games and is currently in talks to add its virtual currency monetization platform to Spymaster.
Bailey expects to see 140 Mafia monetize through Super Rewards at roughly the same rate per user as social games on other platforms like Facebook. By getting into support of Twitter social gaming at the very emergence of the first few major titles, Super Rewards hopes to "get an absolutely massive piece of the pie" that might result when Twitter social gaming takes off.
Bailey points out that 140 Mafia is growing rapidly despite launching only a week ago; he predicts a million users within roughly two months at most.
Bailey says there is reason to believe that Twitter could prove to be an even more viral growth platform for social gaming than the various social networks. In particular, 140 Mafia is using the proven "mafia RPG" format so there's no reason to believe the game won't succeed as well on Twitter as it has on iPhone, Android, and various social networks.
Pointing to Facebook's example, Bailey notes that Twitter needs a way to monetize and that social games have proven themselves as massive generators of revenue. Bailey hopes to see Twitter make moves to support the growth of social gaming on Twitter by doing things like adding some sort of "Games channel" that would let players and readers easily filter social gaming tweets from "standard" ones.
