Today the Beijing-based social game developer Rekoo announced that it had received $1.5 million in funding from Infinity Venture Partners. Rekoo maintains two Facebook games, Animal Paradise and Sunshine Ranch. The former is a virtual pet game, the latter a virtual farming sim. Animal Paradise serves about 6.75 million users on Facebook.
Sunshine Ranch serves only 2.33 million users on Facebook, but the game is also available in Japanese on Japan's Mixi social network. There it serves 3.8 million users, which is about 20% of the total Mixi userbase. Zynga's FarmVille serves a similar percentage of the total Facebook userbase. Both Sunshine Ranch and Animal Paradise are widely available on Chinese social networks, too, including 51.com and Xiaonei.
